Christmas Party for orphans and children with special needs
Every year, the Rotary Club of Accra-West holds a Christmas Party for orphans and children with special needs in the second week of December. The schools that are hosted include:
1. Demonstration School for the Deaf, Mampong
2. Akropong School for the Blind
3. Dzorwulu Special School
4. New Horizon School
5. Osu Children's Home
Ɔkamafoɔ Project
Ɔkamafoɔ Project spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Accra Teshie Nungua in partnership with the Rotary Cubs of: Accra-West, Accra Kanda, Accra Achimota, Accra Labone, Accra Spintex, Accra North Kaneshie, Accra Premier International, Obuasi, Dunkwa, Kumasi, and E-Club of Ghana.
On December 20, 2023 donated Wheelchairs, Quad Canes and Elbow Clutches to the Mephibosheth Training Centre, Apam Junction in Gomoa West, in support of Children with Cerebral Palsy.
This was preceded by a donation of assorted medicines to the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital which came off on November 28, 2023.
Service Projects
Since its Charter, the Rotary Club of Accra West has undertaken a number of service projects in the area of Health, Education, Water & Sanitation, Hunger & Malnutrition.
Some of the projects undertaken are as follows;
- Distribution of Treated Mosquito Nets in selected communities
- Distribution of Exercise Books, Pens and Mathematical sets
- VOSH Eye Screening & Medical Outreach
- Construction of Urinal for Kanda Est. '1' Basic School
- Donation of Audio-Video Equipments to the Autism Awareness, Care and Training Centre – Kokomlemle
- Donation of Used Clothing to Accra Psychiatric Hospital
